And keep an eye out on their social media channels for the latest news:
From Wednesday 1st July, we’re going to be re-starting most of our public track sessions. This includes all the regular sessions at HHV – the Sunday Women’s session, the Wednesday and Thursday morning Vets’ sessions, Race Training on Wednesdays and Mondays, and the Thursday and Friday Youth sessions.
These sessions will however be modified so that they can fit within British Cycling and government guidelines. This means:
• Sessions will be 1 hour long and cost £10 for the hour
• The start/finish times of sessions may be different
• Riders must book a session in advance via RiderHQ www.riderhq.com/events?q=herne+hill+velodrome&a=SEARCH&type=&distance=&postcode=
• Riders can use their own track bikes if they are stored at HHV, but no hire bikes will be available for use just yet
• Each session will be limited to 5 riders and 1 coach
• Riders must still maintain 2 metre social distancing at all times
The content of the sessions may be different to normal, but will be designed to benefit the riders who would usually attend that session. The sessions will be split out into skills-based, intermediate and advanced levels – we’ll do things like pursuit training, intervals, sprint efforts or skills-based drills.
Ensuring people can access the containers safely is a priority, so they will be opened by staff before the start of the session and then remain locked other than for a short period at the start and finish of each session. Please arrive for your session with enough time to get your bike from the container as it won’t be re-opened for latecomers.
Riders must use the hand sanitiser provided and if their bike is in one of our containers they must wipe it down before and after use. There’ll be one pump available in the track centre that will be wiped down after each use also.
If you’re enjoying the road bike sessions, they will still be running on Tuesday evenings and Friday mornings and some other slots through the week. Please visit our website for a list of all the available road bike and track bike sessions and more information about what they’ll involve.
If you are coming to HHV for a session, please read our pre-session information before you visit the track.
