Youth Series Competition Rules
The competition is open to all riders, male and female, aged 16 or under who qualify as “youth” under current British Cycling regulations. There will be separate classifications for each youth category A, B, C, D and E and for males and females within each category.
Points will be scored in each race according to the following table:
| Win: | 25 | points |
| 2nd place | 20 | points |
| 3rd place | 15 | points |
| 4th place | 7 | points |
| 5th place | 1 | point |
Each rider’s best seven results will count towards their points total, however, the number of qualifying results will be kept under review and may be reduced should some races be cancelled.
The tie breaker shall be: greatest number of wins, followed by greatest number of second places, then third places, and so on. Should there still be a tie, placing in the final round that either rider takes part in shall be the decider. A ‘no show’ or not finishing in this round will count as a lower placing; if both riders take part their placings count as normal.
No prizes or rewards shall be offered to any rider under this competition.
Senior Series Competition Rules
The competition is open to all riders aged 16 or over falling under the following British Cycling competition categories:
- Women categories: Elite, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th
- Open categories: Elite, 1st, 2nd and 3rd
There will be four separate classifications as follows:
- Women: Elite, 1st and 2nd category
- Women: 3rd and 4th category
- Open: Elite 1st and 2nd category
- Open: 3rd category
Points will be scored in each race according to the following table:
| Placing | 1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th | 5th | 6th | 7th | 8th | 9th | 10th | ||
| Points | 50 | 40 | 30 | 25 | 20 | 15 | 10 | 5 | 3 | 1 | ||
Each rider’s best five results will count towards their points total, however, the number of qualifying results will be kept under review and may be reduced should some races be cancelled.
Riders in the open races shall score points in either the Elite, 1st and 2nd category race or in the 3rd category race according to their category on the day of the race and therefore which race they take part in. Should a rider begin the season as a 3rd category rider but then be promoted to a higher category they shall keep their points total in the Open 3rd Category classification and remain eligible for any prizes; thereafter they must ride in the Open Elite, 1st & 2nd category races and can begin to accumulate points in this classification as well, and be eligible for any prizes. In such cases the rider’s best five results in the Open 3rd category classification will count and the rider’s best five results in the Open Elite, 1st & 2nd category classification will count.
Riders in the women’s races will all start together, however, two separate results will be published: one result for Elite, 1st and 2nd category riders and a separate result for the 3rd and 4th category riders. The points table above will be applied to each individual result. For any women who begin the season as 3rd or 4th category but get promoted to a category higher than 3rd, the same principles shall apply as in the paragraph above for the open classifications, namely they will be eligible for prizes in both classifications.
Prizes and or rewards may be offered to riders in these classifications and in individual races.
Any eventuality that has not been explicitly covered by the rules as set out above will be considered by the organiser whose decision on such matters will be final as will any interpretation of these rules and their application.
